Running Back · Jacksonville Jaguars · Age 23 · Virginia Tech · RB21 Half-PPR (Season 2026)
Bhayshul Tuten is ranked RB21 (overall #55) for the Season of the 2026 NFL season in Half-PPR fantasy football by Hayden of The Underdog Football Show. ADP 55.1 — close to consensus.
Tuten plays out of control but has Coen and the speed to create big plays
Tuten didn't usurp Travis Etienne at any point. He played 21% of the regular season snaps, then played 29% in the Jaguars postseason loss. Fellow rookie LeQuint Allen rotated in just as much (22%) because of his pass protection reliability, and that part won't change. What will change is the carry share on early downs and at the goal line with Etienne gone and HC Liam Coen darling Chris Rodriguez in. Tuten is taking the carries early in camp while C-Rod misses time with a foot injury. Every rep Tuten gets is a big deal because he was far too boom-bust as a rookie. Tuten is a quality athlete. He has contact balance (5'9"/209) and speed (4.32 forty). For as great of an athlete as he is, there were too many reps that he played out of control, causing him to slip out or round off his cuts. His feet aren't always under him, which caused him to lose a couple very near huge runs. His excited play speed was as much of a con as it was a pro throughout his rookie season. The Jaguars leaned into this by tossing him a bunch of pitches later into the season which helped him see the field with more clarity. I'd expect Tuten to be watching De'Von Achane tape this offseason in hopes he can be half as good overall. Tuten's breakaway run rate will absolutely improve in year two based on what his tape was showing. He also has potential as a schemed up receiver with Etienne out of the way. C-Rod won't compete there, and Tuten had a bullet route TD and turned the corner on a couple screens. One of his receiving TDs was all athleticism, as he accidentally went off to the left while his entire OL set up to the right side. That sums up his rookie season. Tuten doesn't have to be a great player to be a fantasy starter with Coen calling plays. Etienne was the RB11 on RB14 usage last year, and the Buccaneers' RBs in 2024 had career seasons. Rodriguez is more trusted in general, but the upside absolutely belongs to Tuten. There is risk if he doesn't improve in his second season, but his RB26 ADP on Underdog reflects the boom-bust potential early in Round 6. I'll take my chances for as long as Rodriguez is sidelined. A similar player who took the leap was Chase Brown, but there have also been Tyjae Spears, Trey Benson, Dameon Pierce, and Michael Carter types along the way.
