DK Metcalf is ranked WR37 (overall #82) for the Season of the 2026 NFL season in Half-PPR fantasy football by Hayden of The Underdog Football Show. Hayden has DK Metcalf ranked 6 spots lower than their Underdog ADP of 76.4, flagging this as an overvalued player.
New target competition turns Metcalf into a no-floor fantasy WR4
Metcalf was highly inconsistent in a slow and balanced Aaron Rodgers offense last year, ultimately finishing as the WR27 on WR34 expected half PPR points and WR32 targets. Things only look trickier in 2026 after Rodgers re-signed as a 42-year-old and the Steelers added Michael Pittman and 2nd-rounder Germie Bernard to the WR room. Metcalf only had a 15% target share with 3+ WRs on the field last year, versus a 25% target share as the lone WR. The Steelers should be in more WR-heavy looks this year based on their personnel and the history of coach Mike McCarthy. Metcalf's average depth of target dropped last year with Rodgers, who would check out of runs to throw the big fella a screen. At the same time, that's exactly the type of game Pittman and Bernard bring to the table, so those looks could decrease. It's also fair to wonder if Rodgers wants to hang in the pocket long enough to throw the ball downfield, which is how Metcalf typically gets his fantasy points. He was the per-game WR42 in targets of 15+ air yards, per Underdog Rankings' advanced stats tool. Metcalf has too much to overcome to accept a WR35 ADP on Underdog, and I'm taking his lower on 874.5 yards.
