Running Back · Detroit Lions · Age 24 · Alabama · RB1 Half-PPR (Season 2026)
Jahmyr Gibbs is ranked RB1 (overall #1) for the Season of the 2026 NFL season in Half-PPR fantasy football by Hayden of The Underdog Football Show. ADP 1.1 — close to consensus.
1.01 candidate in half PPR with David Montgomery gone
Gibbs is my 1.01 in half PPR after finishing 4th overall last year in fantasy points over replacement per game, despite splitting time with David Montgomery (now on the Texans). Gibbs has averaged 25.1 half PPR points in 8 games that Montgomery has missed or played in under 25% snaps, and he should set career highs in volume. Isiah Pacheco only signed for $1.8M this offseason on a 1-year deal, a sign that his role will be a lot smaller than Montgomery's. At the same time, there are other changes to the Lions offense. They have a new OC in Drew Petzig, who was doing some cool things with the Cardinals specifically in the run game. They also re-tooled their OL with mauling veteran C Cade Mays and experienced 1st-round RT Blake Miller. The Lions OL was average to even below average last year, but they should get back to moving bodies in 2026. Gibbs' projection in the Underdog lobby is 1,249 rushing yards and 549 receiving yards. This could be a legendary season.
