Nabers on pace to miss September but 2026 NYG projects better
Nabers is more likely than not to miss all of September as a PUP candidate after needing a clean-up procedure for a meniscus that was locking up. That's right, this wasn't a clean ACL tear, which adds to the risk. This video of him jogging to 1st base in a celebrity softball game certainly didn't help ease the tension: That said, you don't get 0 fantasy points in your starting lineup without Nabers, and it's a personal problem if you can't get some WR points in Weeks 1-4 while Nabers is on your bench/IR spot. Assuming he's back in Week 5, Nabers will be a full 12 months removed from his injury as a 23-year-old freak athlete. Players like this aren't immediately themselves, but after a month or so, they often are. Nabers has as much potential as anyone outside of Round 1 from Week 5 on. Nabers is PPR's WR6 on WR3 usage on a per-game basis since his rookie year in 2024. The Giants were 27th in scoring, 26th in passing yards, 27th in passing success rate, and 30th in EPA per dropback. He's barely played with Jaxson Dart, who is on pace to be a solid starting QB after making things work as a rookie himself. New York is still only projected for the 22nd-most points per the betting markets, but it should be a tier above what Nabers' has been used to. If Nabers misses four games then takes four more games to get his feet wet, and then ranks as the WR8 in the back half of his season, then he's still worth a Round 3 selection, especially in full PPR. That dice roll comes with obvious risk.
